[ABS ECU’s] [Throttle bodies] [Electric power steering] [ECU’s,ECM’s] [Injectors] [Contact]

Mercedes SLK & C class from 1992 onward
Symptom:
Misfire on two cylinders.
Cause:
This is a very common problem with Mercedes ECU’s, there are two types of ECU fitted:

1. Bosch/Siemens PMS type ECU

2. VDO type ECU

These two type of engine ECU both suffer from the same problem i.e Ignition misfire, the ignition coil spikes back to the ECU and blows the coil drivers from within the ECU and cause the engine to misfire.
Solution:
Get the ECU rebuilt and replace the ignition coils, it is very important to replace the ignition coils before the rebuilt ECU is fitted or the coils will damage the ECU again.
